About Luis
Luis (he/him) works with experts in instructional design and academic technology to design, revise, and optimize online course content for both traditional and non-traditional students. He is passionate about digital accessibility and inclusive design. Before joining the IDC, he worked as an Online Course Development Assistant at the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Mentoring. Luis is also a dissertator in the Journalism and Mass Communication program at UW-Madison, with over 7 years of experience in courses on introductory communication theory, public speaking, news writing, and media fluency. He has two primary research avenues: (1) How news coverage of protests affects policy change and (2) How humor can counteract political polarization. In his free time, Luis is an avid gamer, cellist, and superfan of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
