Simplify Your Canvas Course Navigation
Did you know you can hide un-used Canvas course navigation links?
- Hiding un-used links in your course navigation makes your Canvas course easier for instructors and students to navigate by reducing unproductive choices, like accessing Discussions in a course that doesn’t use online discussion posts.
- It can also prevent navigational paths you don’t want students to take, like opening files outside the context of your weekly modules.

- Consider what you’ll use regularly in Canvas each semester, and hide any features and navigation links you won’t be using with students.
- We recommend always keeping the UDOIT Accessibility Checker in your course navigation links. Even when enabled, students will not be able to see this. Learn more about the UDOIT Accessibility Checker from the Learn@UW team.
